Your library
Request titles
How people on your server ask for titles that aren't in the library yet, and how you review those asks as the admin.
People on your server can request movies and seasons from Discover. You can review each request or choose to approve requests automatically.
Requests appear only when two things are true: the server is on a Supporter plan (the owner's plan covers everyone on the server), and the owner has connected a library automation integration under Admin, then Integrations. Without both, title pages simply show "Not in Library" and no request button.
Asking for a title#
Browse or search in Discover. On a title that isn't in the library, the page shows a Request button. Movies are requested whole; shows are requested by season, with seasons already in the library or already requested shown as such. Where the server carries both regular and 4K versions and you have the 4K permission, a quality toggle appears.
The title's page shows whether it's requested or available. If an admin declines a request, you'll see their reason if they provided one, and you can request it again.
Your requests appear under Requests in the app, split into Active and History. While a request is still waiting, you can cancel it yourself.
Request limits:
- Asking for something a housemate already asked for doesn't create a duplicate; the existing request covers you both, and extra seasons you pick are added to it.
- Profiles with a content rating cap can only request titles within their cap, the same rule that applies everywhere else. See Profiles and parental controls.
Reviewing requests as the admin#
New requests land in Admin, then Requests, with a badge on the admin rail while something is waiting. You can approve or decline each one, for shows even season by season, and attach a reason when declining. Approved requests are handed to your configured integration, and the request tracks progress until the title is available.
Whether requests wait for you at all is your call, under Admin, then Integrations:
| Policy | Effect |
|---|---|
| Auto-send | Requests are sent onward immediately. The button members see reads "Add" instead of "Request" |
| Require approval | Non-admin requests wait in the queue; your own and other admins' go through immediately |
Two per-person permissions refine this, under Admin, then Users:
- 4K requests: off by default. Admins can always request 4K; grant it to members you trust with the disk space.
- Auto-approve requests: lets a specific person skip the queue even when the server policy requires approval.
If you want to hear about requests as they happen, the request events (created, approved, declined, available) can post to your notification channels under Admin, then Notifications.
There are no request quotas; the only limits are the permissions above.
