Fix a wrong match

Sometimes a file matches the wrong title, or the artwork isn't the one you'd pick. You can correct all of it from the web interface without renaming files.

You need to be signed in as the server's admin account, on its main profile. On a movie or show page, the actions live in the round ⋯ button at the far right of the action row, past Mark Watched. The button directly next to Play only holds playback options.

Fix match#

Choose Fix match and search by title, with an optional year. Pick the right result with Use this; metadata and artwork refresh in the background. If nothing comes up, try a shorter title or drop the year.

Edit metadata#

Edit metadata covers the title, sort title, release date, content rating, rating, tagline, overview, genres, and studios. Fields you change are locked, so future refreshes keep your values. Locked fields show a Locked pill; click it to hand the field back to automatic updates.

Change artwork#

Change artwork shows candidates for the poster, backdrop, and logo. Click one to apply it, or upload your own image. Your choice is kept when metadata refreshes.

Unmatch#

Unmatch clears a title's online identity and stops automatic matching from trying again. The files stay in your library, and Fix match identifies them again whenever you're ready.

Unknown titles#

Anything tofa couldn't identify at all is collected under Admin, then Hygiene, in the Unknown titles tab. Try again retries the automatic match; Identify opens the same search as Fix match. Often the real fix is the file name, though: see Name your media files.
