Add your own artwork

Drop poster, background, and logo images into your folders and tofa uses them.

If you're particular about how your library looks, drop your own images next to your media and tofa picks them up. It reads the same file names most media servers use, so artwork you already have keeps working. Your files are always preferred over the artwork tofa fetches on its own.

Movies#

Put the image in the movie's folder:

poster.jpg and fanart.jpg are the common names, and logo.png is the title logo. If you keep several movies loose in one folder, name the image after the file instead: Heat (1995)-poster.jpg, Heat (1995)-fanart.jpg.

Shows#

Show artwork goes in the show's top folder, and each season can have its own poster:

A plain season01.jpg works for the season poster too, and if you'd rather keep each season's image inside its own folder, name it Season01.jpg or folder.jpg in that folder.

Recommended sizes#

tofa uses your files at the resolution you provide, so give it something crisp. These sizes look great on everything from a phone to a 4K TV:

JPG, PNG, and WebP all work. Keep each file under 20 MB. Logos should be a PNG with a transparent background so the title sits cleanly over the artwork.

Replacing and removing#

Add a file and tofa picks it up automatically, usually within a minute. On network storage the change shows up on the next library scan instead. Your image also comes first when you change artwork from the web interface, under the title's menu, so you can switch between it and the ones tofa found.

Remove the file and tofa goes back to its own artwork the same way. If you've locked an image by choosing it in the web interface, that choice wins over a file in the folder until you clear it.
